Summer Hair Care Is The Best Care
Updated: May 8
Hair care is very important, especially during the summer season. With excess sun shining brightly on our unprotected scalps, unless you’re intentionally covering it, it is no secret that the summer months can potentially cause unintentional hair damage.
Just like it’s important to use sunscreen to protect skin from harmful UV Rays, it is also essential to protect your hair as well. Although many of us love fun in the sun, excessive sun can damage the hair, causing dry hair and scalp. In some cases of over sun exposure, sunburns can even appear on the scalp, and the excess sweat produced from the heat, can create dandruff.
The number one way to fight against all of these unwanted hair issues, is by keeping the hair properly moisturized. Hair moisture is necessary, and conditioning the hair more often, enables restoration and nourishment of the hair. Another way to combat any onset of hair damage in the summer months, is by simply covering your hair.
This may seem like common sense, however many people don’t realize the significance of wearing hats or head scarfs when being in the sun for extended periods of time. If you plan to spend majority of your summer outside, make sure to protect your scalp and mane with either a sunhat, baseball cap, headwrap, or anything of your choosing, as long as it doesn’t place tension on your scalp and hair. By doing this, you’ll eliminate the chances of getting sunburn on the scalp, as well as drying out your hair.
